Book Watch began as a passion project
dreamed up by founder and host Sarah-Daye, who spent years comparing books to their movie and TV adaptations long before she ever sat behind a microphone. She had debated starting a podcast for a long time, but finally took the leap — launching Book Watch on her 35th birthday as a love letter to storytelling, cinema, and the readers who watch every adaptation with a critical (and loving) eye.
From day one, Chris and Jordyn were enthusiastic supporters — eagerly following the show before the first episode even dropped and appearing as some of the earliest guests. After several recording delays and cancellations with outside guests, Sarah-Daye realized that her Type-A, structure-loving personality needed a steadier format and a consistent team.
She reached out to Chris and Jordyn with a simple question:
“Do you want to help me build this together?”
They didn’t hesitate — and the rest is history.
Today, Book Watch is powered by three friends who love books, movies, heated adaptation debates, and laughing together on-air. What started as a solo project has evolved into a collaborative podcast built on passion, structure, and genuine chemistry — a place where readers and movie lovers can feel at home.

Sarah-Daye’s love for storytelling began early—born from cozy nights watching DVD commentaries with her mom and escaping into the pages of her favorite books. The magic of seeing Harry Potter come to life on the big screen sparked her fascination with page-to-screen adaptations, a passion that continues to inspire her today. Whether she’s deep in a fantasy novel or analyzing behind-the-scenes film details, she’s always been captivated by the art of transforming words into worlds.
A lifelong fantasy fan, Sarah-Daye finds herself most at home in the realms of Terrasen or the Fairy Tail guild, surrounded by magic, camaraderie, and maybe even a flying cat or two. Her favorite author is Sarah J. Maas—largely thanks to the fierce and unforgettable Manon Blackbeak—and her comfort reads always bring her back to Throne of Glass or the Harry Potter audiobooks she falls asleep to each night. When she’s not lost in a book, you’ll probably find her rewatching something from the Marvel universe or geeking out about upcoming adaptations like The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
When she’s not podcasting, reading, or watching the latest adaptations, you’ll find Sarah-Daye completing a puzzle with her husband, working on their 1959 fixer upper, playing a board game, or exploring the world through the eyes of her girls. For Sarah-Daye, every adaptation is a new adventure—and she’s here to share it with fellow book and movie enthusiasts.

Chris
For Chris, books and movies have always been more than entertainment—they’re a way to escape, reflect, and expand his worldview. From long workdays saved by audiobooks to late nights lost in new stories, storytelling has shaped how he experiences the world. He’s drawn to superhero sagas, sci-fi adventures, and epic fantasy realms, but he’s just as happy diving into historical fiction, mysteries, or thought-provoking nonfiction. Whatever the genre, Chris loves stories that twist expectations and challenge perception.
Chris finds comfort in rewatching superhero films or classic sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother—often playing in the background while he works or relaxes. His bookshelf favorites include Ready Player One, packed with nostalgic references, and the works of Sarah J. Maas, especially when he’s craving stories about courage and rebellion. If he could meet any writer, he’d choose Isaac Asimov, whose visionary perspective on humanity continues to inspire Chris’s curiosity and optimism.
As a cohost of Book Watch, Chris brings humor, insight, and authenticity to every conversation. His favorite part of the process is diving deep into research—uncovering details and themes that spark new insights for listeners. Passionate about the power of adaptation, he reminds audiences that while film can illuminate a story, it often can’t capture every nuance of the page. Above all, Chris hopes Book Watch inspires others to explore new genres, new perspectives, and new ways of seeing the world.
Jordyn has loved books for as long as she can remember—starting with The Magic Tree House series and Harry Potter in first grade, and never looking back. That early sense of wonder grew into a lifelong passion for fantasy and storytelling. Whether it’s a tale filled with magic, monsters, sword fights, or a bit of romance, Jordyn loves being transported into worlds that feel larger than life. Her favorite films mirror that same spirit of adventure, from Jurassic Park to Indiana Jones, where every story feels like an epic journey.
Her comfort reads include Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen—two stories that remind her why she fell in love with reading in the first place. And when she needs a feel-good rewatch, Tangled is always the perfect choice. Jordyn would give anything to sit down with Jane Austen herself to discuss how her timeless stories continue to speak to readers centuries later.
As a cohost of Book Watch, Jordyn brings humor, intelligence, and energy to every discussion. She loves the recording sessions most—the back-and-forth of thoughtful debate and shared excitement that feels like the best kind of book club. Jordyn hopes listeners walk away from each episode recognizing that both books and films hold unique value—and that seeing a story through multiple mediums can reveal new depths, new meanings, and a renewed love for storytelling.
